A raindrop races down glass.
Grey light fills the room.
Wet paint sends a sharp smell.
Viola steps between low desks.
A damp sponge slowly dries.
Warm air lifts its water.
Green colour stains the sponge ridge.
Near the play kitchen, paper curls.
A toy rabbit gives one hop.
A faint breeze powers the spring.
Small pans rest in the kitchen corner.
One pan holds yellow buttons.
They rattle when breeze passes.
Viola turns back to the sponge.
Its edges look drier, lighter.
Her brother Bram watches the window.
Bram whispers, "Rain draws fast lines."
Another raindrop joins the first trail.
Both trails merge beside the frame.
