Scratch marks stripe the wood.

A small bug skims the surface.
Flora watches the small bug.
On the far bank, an older child crouches.
A closed box holds a sandwich.
A toy monkey hangs from its handle.
The older child says, "I see it spin."
A page lifts in a light puff.
A collected leaf slips off.
It drops onto the water.
The small bug hides under it.
Flora tilts her head, not moving her feet.
She looks along a clear side run.
A beetle clicks across the log.
A wet rock shows a pale ring.
In the mud, a big boot print holds.
Above the pool, a round drop hangs.
