A rolled poster touched his elbow during the careful walk. The tray tilted; the cactus pot bumped a tall water jar.

The jar tipped and splashed blue water on the floor. The wet spot startled their cat, who raced across loose papers. The rushing cat knocked a chair, which bumped the closed door. The door clicked shut, trapping Milo and Leo inside the study. Water spread toward a stack of textbooks near the shelf. Leo grabbed towels, and Milo shifted the tray onto boxes. Their quick cleaning showed solid teamwork and good quality work. When silence returned, the cactus stood upright without one scratch. A single pink flower opened on its crown; their eyes widened.
