The Upside Down Jar- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Morning light filled the small garage.

Leo searched for one extra baseball on a high shelf. The shelf stood above a stack of paint cans. He pulled a wooden stool under the shelf. The stool shook when he stepped onto the top board. A glass jar of pineapple rings rested beside the ball box. The jar tipped, rolled, and landed upside down on the cans. Sticky juice dripped onto a skateboard lying below. Wheels turned, and the board began a slow ride across concrete.

Leo jumped down as the moving board bumped his ankle. He grabbed a broom and blocked the rolling wheels. The board stopped beside a pile of cardboard tubes. Juice still leaked, forming a small shining pool. Leo lifted the jar, set it upright, and wiped the rim. He opened the dusty box and found three bright baseballs. One bounced from his hand into the sticky pool. He laughed, rinsed it with a nearby hose, then pocketed two more. He carried the clean ball outside.

晨光灑進小小的車庫。

利奧想在高架子上找到一顆額外的棒球。架子位在一堆油漆罐上方。他把一張木凳拉到架子下。當他踩上最上面的踏板時，凳子晃了。裝著鳳梨圈的玻璃罐就在球盒旁邊。罐子傾斜、滾動，最後倒著落在油漆罐上。黏黏的汁液滴到下面的一塊滑板上。輪子轉動，滑板慢慢沿著水泥地滑行。
