Blanket Soaked- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Milo sat on the porch and watched the garden sprinkler. He wanted a soft blanket from the distant swing seat. With the blanket, he planned to cuddle and relax later. A simple idea, yet water kept rising and falling across grass. Warm sunlight touched the wooden steps. The sprinkler turned, sprayed, then paused in a steady rhythm. Milo watched one full circuit and counted the quiet seconds. Beside him rested a rolled yoga mat from morning exercise.

He noticed the spray stopped for five slow heartbeats each turn. He waited until the pause began near the swing. Boots slapped damp boards as he hurried over the dry arc. Fingers grabbed the blanket, then he dashed back to the porch. The sudden sprint shook the porch rail, bumping the yoga mat. The mat rolled forward, landed, and pressed the sprinkler head sideways. Water burst higher and covered the new blanket completely. Milo sighed, lifted the dripping cloth, and watched water keep spinning. He draped it over the railing to dry.

他注意到水柱每次停下大約五個慢呼吸的時間。他等待停歇點移到盪鞦韆附近。鞋底拍著潮濕的木板，他趁乾區快步跑過去。手指抓住毯子，他又衝回門廊。突然的衝刺晃到欄杆，碰到瑜伽墊。墊子往前滾，壓到灑水器頭。水柱衝得更高，整條新毯子全濕了。米洛嘆口氣，提起滴水的布，繼續看旋轉的水花。他把毯子搭在欄杆上晾乾。
