When the Disk Flashed-

English 原文
Dry leaves scraped over the walking path. A squirrel squeaked above the rustle, its claws drumming on a ridged limb while Hazel stepped past the bench area.
Grit from the gravel pressed through the thin soles of her shoes, and a chill crept up from the damp ground. Wind shifted, sharper than before, brushing her sleeves with a rough tug. Beside the fountain surroundings, spray cooled the air and glazed the nearest stones. There, half-buried in sticky mud, lay a palm-sized bronze disk. The metal felt slippery when she brushed it; fine sand clung to the rim and refused to loosen. A pigeon, deliberate as a board-game strategist, paced near the pond bank, eyeing crumbs until another gust made the bits scatter over the wet flagstones. Water on the fountain’s rim offered a lucid mirror, yet the disk’s face stayed dull beneath the smear of grit.
Hazel crouched only after the clouds packed tighter overhead, squeezing a sudden drop in temperature. She had wiped a corner of the disk with her thumb, but the damp film still hid whatever pattern lay below. A second attempt with her sleeve slipped; the cloth slid across the slick surface and left streaks. She pressed the edge against the fountain’s stone lip, scraping away mud in short, steady strokes. The third scrape peeled off a final layer to reveal faint colors—tiny arches, columns, and figures, arranged like a miniature gallery ceiling frozen on metal. Another gust slapped water against her knees, but she kept working, coaxing more detail from the cold disk. The arches brightened, as if paint waited under every grain she removed. Hazel was turning the newly shining disk toward the lucid water.
