When Rocks Rolled- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Soft morning light spread across the short grass.

A young goat trotted along the valley floor toward thick clover.

A flat wooden gate blocked a narrow ditch before the plants.

A bright robin hopped on the gate and pecked loose bark.

Seeds on the surface delighted the robin for a moment.

The goat pushed the gate with one curved horn.

The gate stayed still and heavy, and it did not slide.

The goat stepped back, turned, and tapped the wood again softly.

A hollow thud came from deep inside the boards.

The goat lowered one horn under the edge and lifted.

The panel rose easily; the wood felt strangely light.

The lifted gate slipped and hit a nearby stone wall.

Loose rocks tumbled from the wall into the ditch below.

The falling rocks filled the gap and made a low ramp.

The goat walked over the new ramp and reached the clover.

A smaller goat companion trotted after and joined the feast.

The robin followed overhead, ready to roam among fresh leaves.

Small stones still rocked inside the shallow path.

鬆動的石塊滾落，掉進水溝。

落石填滿缺口，形成一座低矮的斜坡。

山羊走過新斜坡，抵達苜蓿地。

一隻較小的山羊伙伴跟了過來，一同享用嫩草。

知更鳥從上方跟隨，準備在新葉間自在飛翔。

小石塊仍在淺淺的通道裡晃動。
