English 原文
Emory opened his mouth to name the color as a red dome touched the aluminium radio and settled under the work lamp's bright circle.
The dome twitched, unfolded into a speckled back, and six tiny feet found lines in the brushed metal.
Magnus paused over the bench, his hand hovering near the iron's stand, while the insect tested the radio's ridge like a cautious climber.
Emory steadied the casing with his forearm and edged the radio a thumb's width toward the lamp; its obstinate volume knob sat within the brighter ring.
A paper tag on the shelf listed its complaint, creased at the corners, pinned by a small prehistoric spiral that served as a friendly weight.
When Magnus touched a joint with the iron, a polite snap sounded, and a thin thread of smoke unrolled before it disappeared into the higher air.
A loose steel sphere nudged against the tag and stayed there, the bench telling its own stories in quiet moves and delicate marks.
The ladybug pressed its face to the radio's seam, then walked toward the lamp's edge, where the circle ended and the cool began.
Emory raised the lamp a little to clear space for the knob, and the shadow slid across the insect like a moving threshold.
Magnus kept the iron parked and watched, his elbow anchored so the live tip stayed quiet while the walking dot considered the border.
Curiosity lifted Emory's fingers again, and he shifted the radio a few millimeters; a faint ribbon of cooler air crossed his wrist from the window.
The ladybug lifted its covers, turned until its head faced that ribbon, and stepped squarely along it toward the glass at floor level.
What had seemed a bead lost from a toy read as a navigator now, mapping a path that the warm cone never offered.
Emory let the knob wait, the smooth lettered ring around it showing years of turning that had polished away half the paint.
He took the paper tag in two fingers and moved the ammonite weight nearer the corner, so the draft could run unbroken toward the lower pane.
Magnus breathed out through his nose, the bench becoming stiller than before, a faint tick from the ceiling clock marking the shop's patient time.
With the radio eased back from the circle, Emory lifted the aluminium lamp a finger-width higher above the ladybug.
