He stepped onto a flat rock at the shore edge. The rock tilted, splashing water over his ankle. The splash pushed the marble farther from the island. A startled frog kicked mud that clouded the lake. Liam paused and noticed a fallen branch beside the reeds. He lifted the branch and stretched it toward the drifting marble. The branch bumped the marble back toward the shore.
