Sam carried a bright kite to the town field. Warm sun covered the wide green field. Lee walked beside him, quiet but ready. Sam wanted the kite to climb very high. A soft wind started, so Sam began the run. The line snagged on a park bench and stopped. The sudden pull tipped a nearby ball toward a stroller. The rolling ball startled a tiny dog under it. The dog dashed, jerking the string tighter around metal.
Sam knelt to analyze the messy knots against the bench. A short stick served as a firm supporter for the spool. The kite design showed inspiration from bright spring flowers. Sam looped the free string around a smooth branch nearby. He pulled once to validate the new path for tension. The line slid clean, and the kite caught fresh wind. Lee stepped back while Sam guided the rising shape upward. Bright fabric fluttered above trees and stayed without more trouble. Sam fixed the reel and walked toward the open grass.
