Nội dung truyện
English Bản gốc
Foam slides over small pebbles.
I sit on warm sand.
My knees press the grit.
A pale damp ring stays.
A flat stick rests by driftwood.
A faint salty smell drifts.
I am Sian.
My mother rests on planks.
Her foot taps the sand.
Her hand holds my bucket.
A toy bus sits inside.
I sort four shells now.
I decide on three rows.
I lift a pink spiral.
I set it near my knee.
I touch a rough white chip.
I place it by the first.
A striped one feels smooth.
It is smooth.
I press it into place.
The last is dark and flat.
I set it at the end.
Shells slide from a bucket.
Near the pool, a child gasps.
Some shells roll into my rows.
My rows break and spread.
Mother looks at the wet line.
She says, "This spot is higher."
I shift up to drier sand.
I mark two lines with the flat stick.
I place each shell again.
Small, then long, then wide.
I wonder at a tiny crab.
It stays on a cool rock.
A breeze lifts dry sand grains.
Bubbles pop in the tide pool.
A small bubble pops.
