Nội dung truyện
English Bản gốc
Under a canvas awning on the dock, Kaya and Britt built a small harbor collage. The awning laid a cool shade over their knees and the sturdy rail beside them. Damp air touched their cheeks, and metal rings clicked while soft water met the pilings. Wooden hulls rose and fell beside the posts, canvas fenders thudding in slow rhythm. A salty smell met dry canvas while faint creaks stitched the quiet under the awning.
Britt balanced the cardboard on his lap, and Kaya arranged corks, paper, and a tin cap. She nudged the cap toward the edge; the sheet tilted a little and the cap started rolling. It picked up speed, tapped a glass pebble, and spun in a small bright wobble. The cap skimmed the rail, dropped to the deck, and rolled hard toward a narrow gap. It slipped through and hit the water with a round plop that spread gentle rings.
Kaya froze her hands, and Britt steadied the cardboard so the other pieces stayed put. The light lap below mixed with wood creaks and distant gull notes while the rings widened. The missing circle left a neat space on the collage, open like a tiny harbor. Kaya slid a flat cork to the edge and pressed it down with her thumb. She added a strip of canvas for grip, then tapped the corner to settle everything.
