This morning started like her usual routine.
She fed Chip, washed the bowl, and tied her shoes.
Warm sunshine filled the kitchen through a low window.
Anna smiled and slipped a red leash on Chip.
They left the house at two in the afternoon.
Bird song mixed with distant traffic near the park gate.
Chip sniffed every bush and pulled Anna toward a tall oak.
Suddenly, Chip started scratching the dry soil under the tree.
Anna knelt and brushed leaves aside with her free hand.
A rusty tin box soon appeared between the roots.
Her heart raced as she opened the lid.
Inside lay old silver coins and a faded train ticket.
The ticket showed the words Grand Opening 1952 in red.
Anna laughed because their simple walk turned into a discovery.
She carried the box home while Chip trotted proudly.
At the door, she wiped the coins with a soft cloth.
She locked the box in the drawer.
