Lena carried her small camera across the grassy park toward an ancient stone tower. She has dreamed of capturing the great eagle that circles above the river; many visitors have already posted blurred pictures, but none clear. Noon light climbed progressively, and shadows shortened as she reached the iron gate. The wooden steps inside the tower, which have been repaired many times, rattled under her shoes, then stopped at a broken section. Bright glare poured through a high window and bounced into her lens, turning the screen white. With the sun near its zenith and the stairs unfinished, her first plan hung in doubt.

She stepped back outside, wiped sweat, and scanned the nearby hill that faced the tower. A narrow footpath, hidden by tall grass, offered a steadier climb, so she took it. At the ridge top she knelt, using her wide hat as a shade for the camera. Seconds later the eagle dropped from the sky and glided lower than expected, settling on the cracked tower rail. A small drifting cloud slid across the sun, softening the glare at the exact moment she pressed the shutter. The image froze the bird mid-pose, while the gray stones hinted at quiet potential for repair. The screen finally showed sharp feathers and still stones.
