English 原文
Luna stepped onto the museum schooner an hour before the harbor festival. She carried a narrow pole wrapped in striped cloth; by dusk she wanted that handmade signal flag fluttering from the highest spar. The organizers had promised a quick rehearsal, yet a supply truck was delayed, so tools lay scattered in half-open crates. Luna, who had once been called a trailblazer in the school sailing club, tapped her foot while counting ropes. She had rehearsed the simple motion again and again, but practice on land never matched the restless deck. A lone crew member balanced near the mast and checked pulleys already darkened by salt.
When the crate finally arrived, Luna rushed forward, only to find the pulley wheel jammed with old paint flakes. Her shoulders tightened; the flag remained trapped against the rail. She tried shaking the line, then brushing debris away with a pocket comb, but the wheel refused to turn. If the wind had turned earlier, her flag would have flown at once, yet the breeze now drifted lazily toward the warehouses. Behind the barrier, a quiet spectator adjusted binoculars, tracking every small movement like a patient referee. Luna fetched a thin screwdriver; the tool slipped, clinked on the deck, and rolled beneath a coil of hose.
The spectator stepped over the barrier, revealing weathered hands and a faded jacket. No words passed between them. He lifted the screwdriver, knelt, and loosened two hidden screws; the wheel clicked free. The final knot had been checked by an experienced sailor long before Luna hoisted the pole overhead. Canvas snapped; color streaked above the rigging just as the first festival drum echoed along the pier. Onshore lights flickered brighter, and the bright fabric rested against the quiet sky.
