Seedlings at the Old Corner-

English 原文
Leo balanced a wooden tray filled with small tomato seedlings as he entered the town square. He had planned to place his planting table in the sunny corner near the fountain. Morning light still lingered there. However, a historian was already there. He had been cataloguing old photographs for a display and had stacked heavy boxes on that exact spot. Before Leo could ask anything, a city worker steered a tall waste trolley toward the same corner. Metal wheels blocked every path. The trolley rattled, and loose paper floated across the tiles. Leo’s tray wobbled, soil spilling on his shoes.
Leo steadied the tray and set it on a bench that had already been covered with faded posters. He bent, gathered the drifting litter, and offered to clean the corner if the historian moved the boxes. The older man raised an eyebrow, then rolled a cart aside with surprising speed. Together they shifted the boxes into the shade. As Leo pushed the waste trolley away, a loose stone under the boxes slid forward. A thin metal plate, streaked with dust, glimmered below. The historian knelt; his hands brushed away grit to reveal words about the town’s first public garden. Eyes widening, he waved Leo closer. Leo placed his seedlings in a neat row along the uncovered edge. Earth met stone, leaves trembled in sunlight, and the square settled into quiet motion.
