Mia sits on the floor.
A bright box waits beside her.
She wraps thin paper around it.
The paper shows tiny yellow stars.
Mia plans a soft gift today.
It is for a new baby.
She lifts a blue blanket gently.
It feels wide for the box.
The sides cannot close around it.
The loose cloth spills across corners.
Mia tilts her head at it.
She folds the blanket in halves.
The edges press together like pages.
Now the cloth fits the box.
Mia nods and lowers it inside.
A tiny clock hides under paper.
The clock starts ticking at once.
Mia jumps at the sudden sound.
She laughs as the noise clicks.
The ticking stays inside the gift.
Mia places the box on table.
The red ribbon rests on top.
The wrapped box stays still now.
