A line of bowls waits.
Steam rises from a small pot.
Mother places rice beside Eva.
White grains slide inside softly.
Eva adds clear water slowly.
Blue flame glows under the pot.
The heavy bag tips suddenly.
Rice pours across the floor.
Small grains cover Eva's shoes.
Mother moves quickly to help.
She lifts the fallen bag.
Eva sweeps loose grains together.
A round blue marble rolls out.
It shines between white grains.
Eva blinks at the marble.
Mother chuckles and pockets it.
They scoop clean rice back.
Water washes away stray grains.
Soon the pot bubbles gently.
A soft smell fills air.
Eva sets bowls in line.
Mother places the warm meal.
They sit beside the table.
Steam drifts over quiet plates.
The kitchen stays still now.
