A young boy holds a bat. His friend tosses a baseball. The late sun is warm. A light breeze moves the grass. The boy swings at the ball. A bird crosses the sky. The ball skips past him. It rolls into long grass. Both children run after it. The grass hides the baseball. The friend shakes the grass. Dry seeds tick against shoes.

A flash of white appears. The boy reaches and grabs it. A small green frog hops out. The frog sits beside the bat. Its throat puffs two times. Both children laugh and step back. Then it slips under the leaves. Soft clover covers the ground. Shadows grow longer across home plate. They place the baseball again. The game starts once more. The field stays quiet now.
