Mia placed a small wooden board on her desk.

Morning light fell across the wooden desk.

She wanted a machine to feed her quiet guinea pig.

She gathered spoons, rubber bands, and a short metal tube.

The parts looked interesting but still needed careful order.

Mia could see the animal waiting inside its cage.

She took a minute to prepare each tiny joint.

Mia turned the rubber band twice and fixed the spoon.

The band stored energy for a quick flip later.

She placed a small carrot piece on the spoon.

At last, Mia opened the cage door a little.

She stepped back and touched the release pin.

The spoon snapped forward and hit the metal tube.

The tube rolled down, bumped a marble, and tipped a cup.

Water splashed over the board and pushed the carrot farther.

The carrot shot past the cage and landed under a chair.

The guinea pig watched the empty spoon and stayed still.

Mia laughed and moved quickly to catch the runaway snack.

She closed the door once more.
