A young girl walks into class. The room is bright. Air smells of fresh paper. Pencils rest in neat rows. A small drawer stands half open. She reaches for a blue crayon. Her hand bumps the drawer. The drawer slides out slightly. Then it sticks halfway. She pulls again with care. Wood scrapes, and the drawer shifts. It opens a little more.

Seven tiny bells jingle inside. Four bright feathers lie beside them. She blinks at the small treasure. She lifts one light bell. It rings with a soft note. A faint dust cloud rises. She sneezes and steps back. A chair scrapes outside the door. Dust settles on her sleeve. Bells stay still and quiet. She places the bell back quickly. The drawer stays half open.
