River of Towels-

English 原文
The plastic cart handle felt slick beneath Kira’s palms, a faint mist of condensation cooling her skin. She had paused under the steel-grey ceiling lights, checking a handwritten list for frozen crescent dough. A lingering hum drifted from the glass freezers while fluorescent beams spilled across blue-grey linoleum marked by older wheel tracks. Several shelves showed pale patches where stickers had been removed years earlier, quiet evidence of countless restocks. She steered toward the cold aisle, one wheel already scraping the floor in uneven arcs. Cold air brushed her ankles as a freezer door opened and closed somewhere ahead.
The misaligned wheel snagged on a loose price tag, jarring the cart sideways. Momentum carried the metal frame into a tower of silver soup cans arranged beside the freezer door. Cans clattered down, one striking the tall handle, another bouncing neatly against the round doorknob of a staff hatch. The jolt released the latch, and the hatch swung inward until its edge pressed a stack of paper towels. Paper bundles toppled, their plastic wrapping tearing; rolls tumbled forward like a frosty waterfall across the tiles.
Kira darted around the slow river of towels, knees bending to catch the leading roll before it struck a glass jar display. Her fingers squeezed the roll; cardboard compressed with a soft crunch, and the motion stalled the remaining bundle. Behind her, the cans kept wobbling, yet each lost speed against the linoleum until only a single one traced a trembling arc. It stopped inside the crescent gap between door and frame, wedging the hinge. The cascade froze there, halted by cardboard, steel, and one quiet can. At the same moment near the self-checkout lanes, an unattended receipt ribbon slipped off its spool and uncurled toward the floor. Fluorescent air currents carried the pale strip onward, its tip drifting across blue tiles toward the cart parking area.
