Footprints on Curved Paint-

English 原文
"Mind the string, pigeon!" Zander called.
The grey bird landed beside the tripod base, knocking crumbs across the grass with two quick beats of its wings. Above it, a bottle full of turquoise paint swung back and forth, smooth as a tiny gondola above still water. Dina mixed fresh colour near several pots of tropical plants, while long leaves brushed her sleeves and scratched the plastic tarp. The string had been stretched by last night’s rain, so the bottle now hung lower and sliced the air in wider arcs. When a breeze tipped the tripod, the flow thinned, breaking the rhythm of curved lines across the growing pattern. Zander squeezed the soft bottle sides, a bubble escaped, and paint reappeared, knitting a fresh stripe through the earlier gap.
The fix solved one issue, yet a heavy splash spread outward, drowning the centre and stealing shine from the first rings. His shoulders lifted toward his ears as the pigeon hopped back, leaving wet dots that marked every second heartbeat of the swing. Under closer observation, the scattered dots formed a delicate network that tangled pleasantly with the broader turquoise flood. He crouched, pinched the bottle neck between thumb and finger, and pressed gently until the stream slowed to patient drips. If he had pressed harder, the plastic would have scraped the paper and dragged colour into a wide, dull smear. Instead he accepted the broad puddle, trusting that dots and curves might unite into a single, flowing design from above.
A cooler gust brushed the drying zone, turning earlier layers matte while Dina returned with a rinsed cup and a half-smile. She raised her phone, catching the spotted centre before light shifted, and nodded once at the accidental collaboration. The pigeon, undisturbed, stepped onto the outer ring and planted two fresh prints beside the silver-blue curve. Thin reflections moved across the wet areas, like pale mirrors trembling whenever the breeze pressed against the glossy skin. From a few paces back, the whole sheet looked like rain circling ripples, imperfect yet clearly connected. Zander stepped back from the sheet while the bottle kept gliding in shrinking loops over the paper.
