Sugar grains sparkle around the cutter.
The room is bright.
Hollis lifts the metal cutter.
It shapes a small tulip outline.
Sticky syrup holds the cutter firmly.
"Sticky syrup here," the grown-up says.
Hollis looks nervous, hand shaking slightly.
A wet cloth lies near the sink.
Hollis slides the damp cloth under.
Syrup loosens, and the cutter lifts.
Sweet fragrance rises as sugar shifts.
Hollis sets toy and cutter aside.
