A tiny rabbit toy waits beside.
Lily piles dark dirt high.
The heap forms a small mountain.
She presses sides with the leaf.
A shallow line shapes a valley.
Loose sand slips outward again.
The shape sinks and spreads flat.
Lily slides a flat stone under.
She lifts, stirs, and packs dirt.
The walls now stay firm.
She truths the valley edge straight.
Lyle smiles, "Strong hill, builder."
Lily pours puddle water inside.
The thin stream curls downhill.
Water runs through the valley.
The rabbit sits on dry peak.
A breeze rocks nearby branches.
Cold morning light fills the space.
Small gnats dance above mud.
Lily laughs and steps back.
Drip hangs on the new mountain.
