Soft rug tickles Odette's toes.

She pats the thick rug.

Warm sunlight fills the room.

Dust dances at first tap.

Her mouth opens in glad laugh.

She presses the smooth wall.

A low echo slides away.

She bumps the wooden block gently.

The block rolls, saves tiny space.

A pencil cup tilts sideways.

Coloured pencils tap on each other.

She lifts a cool folded cloth.

Lint underneath looks like waste fluff.

She nudges the curtain edge.

Wind slides one sunbeam our way.

Bright light dances over the bed.

"Morning," a voice calls softly.

Odette pats her pillow once.

The sunbeam now touches her sock.
