It slides near a flat rock.
Water splashes on Ruby's shoes.
Spray makes her sleeves wet.
She steps, but stone feels slick.
Ruby steadies with a forked stick.
The leaf drifts under a curved root.
She follows to the flower patch.
Bright petals glow beside the stream.
The leaf finally rests on moss.
Ruby stands still beside it.
Now the yellow leaf lies quiet.
