Puddle Shrinks Under Sunlight- 適合初學者的英語短篇故事

A round puddle slides inward across dark soil. Sunlight presses down. Feathers drift. The water moves back toward its center. A slight hiss lifts when tiny bubbles break.

Near the fence, a wooden nest box rests. Warmth rises against it. Damp straw inside dries fast. The edges curl and lighten. A small insect leaps across two straw tips. Then it stays still as the breeze passes.

I look again at the puddle. Only a thin ring glimmers. Brown earth shows through the middle. Now the ring slips smaller. Bare soil lies open inside the circle. A goat kid steps nearby. I hear its hoof tap the stone. A soft cluck circles.
