A tiny spider walks under the rail.
Poppy parks the bucket upright.
The handle clinks once.
She takes the flat brush.
Stiff bristles sweep the patch.
The stone looks clear and dry.
She sets the cake there.
A flock clucks near the gate.
Dust lifts, and water rings widen.
She lifts the cake again.
She lays the brush back.
She tips the bucket to tilt.
Thin water slides toward the path.
Poppy leans on the rail once more.
A clean circle marks the stone.
