The sun is bright.
A boy named Blake walks along a path.
Soft air moves around him.
He sees a closed flower bud.
The bud is round and tight.
A drop of water hangs under it.
No doubt the bud opens soon.
Blake steps further down the path.
Tall grass stands in his view.
He leans left to see more.
He now sees a low apple tree.
One apple hangs above his head.
The skin is smooth and half green.
A pale blush spreads across it.
Birds pick small bugs nearby.
Grass shifts but stays quiet.
No doubt the color grows deeper.
Blake looks back at the first bud.
A thin line opens on the bud.
Tiny yellow shows inside the crack.
Blake stands still beside the branch.
Quiet air sat between leaves.
