Stone Patch on the Hill-

English 原文
Soft sunlight slid across the short grass.
Tess carried a bright cloth flag toward the low hill.
The teacher walked nearby, counting footprints in the damp ground.
Tess wanted to fix a tiny path along the slope.
Dry soil crumbled under each step, and small stones tumbled forward.
Thin clouds crossed the sun; light rain began.
Water darkened the tracks and showed fresh erosion lines.
Soon the clouds moved again, and warm light returned.
Another wave of drizzle tapped the leaves above her hair.
Climbing the slick curve now felt like a dare.
Tess knelt where water pooled near a loose rock.
She pressed flat stones into the soft mud around it.
Rain cooled her hands, yet the stones stayed firm.
Minutes passed; sunlight broke through the clouds once more.
Mud dried fast and gripped the stones in one layer.
Tess stood and stepped up on her new steady patch.
The teacher smiled but said nothing, watching soil stay quiet.
A small gust rolled along the grass and rattled a bucket.
Tess
Tess
Tess
Tess
