English 원문
The platform smelled of roasted coffee mixed with warm tomato sauce. Suki placed a cloth on the wooden bench while a thin winter draft curled beneath the awning. She and Bea had planned a quick lunch before their train, so two plastic bowls of steaming quinoa salad rode inside Suki’s canvas tote. A chef from the city café had acted as her mentor last summer and taught her the simple recipe; the grain puffed with tiny bubbles and carried its nutty nutrient aroma into the cold air. Suki pulled the bowls apart, yet they clung by stubborn suction. She wedged a travel spatula between the rims, twisted, and tugged. The upper bowl refused to release, and another gust from the track only slapped napkins against her knees.
A low whistle rolled along the rails as an express train approached, pushing a wide, dusty gust ahead of its nose. Suki noticed the breeze sliding under the loose edge of the spatula. In a breath she tilted the spatula like a small vane, steering the oncoming air toward the narrow gap. The sudden blast inflated the trapped space, broke the vacuum, and the nested bowls burst apart with a loud pop. Warm steam escaped and drifted upward, but the redirected gust escaped sideways, sweeping the freed napkins off the bench and across the platform tiles. One sheet skipped down onto the track bed, then another twirled into the open door of an arriving carriage. Wind rushed through the footbridge again, carrying a sharper whistle. Loose napkins fluttered across the empty tracks.
