The tight wrap at the mooring post buzzed like a long string. She plucked it again, and the hum deepened. The belt on her waist had a square buckle. She slipped the strap around the rope near the wrap. The extra touch pressed cloth to fiber and added weight. The buzz fell to a muffle. A thin, glassy ring still stood in the air.
