Soft wind passed over the long grass.
She carried a tackle box and looked for smooth stones.
Near a flat rock, she found a square wooden block.
The block felt heavy and showed no hinges or lock.
She tried to lift the lid with her pocket hammer.
The wood only shook and stayed closed.
Hana knelt and turned the block in her hands.
Thin dust lines ran around the sides, forming fine seams.
She pressed one seam and felt it shift a tiny gap.
She twisted the lower half, and the block opened sideways.
Small steel balls spilled out and rolled over the slope.
They bounced through sparse grass and struck her tackle box.
The lid sprang up, and shiny hooks scattered on the dirt.
A single hook hung from a bent weed.
