A waxy scratch lines its edge.
"There it is," Hector says.
Seren slides the block under.
Her arm is too short.
She shifts her grip lower.
Hands steady.
The block touches the dove.
A painted eye faces out.
Seren eases it to the center.
Dust coats its side.
"I can reach now," Seren says.
She lifts the tip a bit.
The dove slides onto the mat.
Seren sets bright blocks around it.
A small celebration sits on the floor.
They both sit and look.
The toy dove clicks against a block.
