Giselle arrives as a moth circles; old wax sits.
Warm wax smells faint near the post.
Her toes press a flat stone.
The surface shows fine cool grain.
A pale wax bead clings on the base.
Giselle watches the moth shadow.
Glare on the glass blocks it.
She tilts her head to the side.
Now two soft shadows cross.
Shadows cross.
Light pools overlap.
Giselle admires the tiny flame.
Giselle looks toward the gate.
At the gate, the sister stands.
She holds a coat by the hook.
A pen sits in her hand.
A small list folds under her thumb.
"It is bright here," she says.
The light pool eases across the next stone.
Her shadow grows small at her feet.
A new moth hovers by the glass.
