The snow line turns by the bench.
Her boot sinks at the soft edge.
She steps into the fresh print.
The line fades. It stops.
A small bird lands at the seed stone.
Three seeds sit: one sunflower, one grain, one rounded.
Josie walks behind the hopping bird.
It moves toward the fence gap.
She stays at arm's length.
The bird slips through the boards.
Josie stands still on the step.
The bird pecks the small grain.
