Clara on the Tower Stairs-

English 原文
Clara crossed the riverside park at dusk, a folded sketchbook pressed under her arm. Beyond the fountains, the old observation tower pierced the cooling air, its base encircled by a low hedge maze that visitors called the green labyrinth. Children laughed somewhere within the twisting alleys, their voices weaving through leaves like quick birds. Clara traced the looped gravel path toward the tower entrance; each footfall scattered dry petals collected after an earlier parade. Her plan remained simple: reach the top before the final color bled from the sky and catch that quick moment on paper.
The iron staircase began tight, almost private, yet widened as it rose. She set a steady rhythm, letting the steps carry her upward while slender windows flicked past. At the third landing her boot slid on a patch of moisture; her palm slapped the railing, metal rang, and the sketchbook edges bent. After the jolt she continued to ascend, glints of violet showing through the slits where the day peeled away. Above the railing, a crescent moon already hung in the firmament, pale and patient, reminding her of distance.
A brass bust waited on the seventh platform. The plaque beneath celebrated a balloon pioneer who once launched from this very tower. Clara slowed, amused by the forgotten tribute, when a gust spiraled through the open core. The top sheet of her sketchbook broke free, caught the rush, and began to soar, not downward but straight up the hollow spine. Paper fluttered like a startled moth, skipping past beams and vanishing toward unseen heights. For a breath the tower thrummed with the same upward pull that once lifted silk balloons.
She chased the runaway page, boots tapping faster, breath turning visible in the cooling air. Near the summit the hatch resisted; hinges groaned, then shifted after a firmer shove. Wind greeted her face as she stepped onto the circular deck. The missing sheet clung to an antenna beside the beacon lamp, edges quivering yet intact. She pinched it free, smoothed the crease against her knee, and let her gaze scan the city grid far below, hedge maze now a dim quilt. Rooftop cables hummed, lights of evening traffic flickered open street by street. Clara anchored the page beneath a clip, raised her pencil, and began tracing silhouettes before darkness finished its work. Evening light pooled across the quiet platform.
