Milo walked to the morning market with a small basket. He wanted one long carrot for tonight's vegetable soup. Stalls showed bright peppers, shiny apples, and fresh bread. The tallest vegetable tower stood near the center path. A single carrot reached higher than the other roots. Milo stretched his arm and gripped the thin green stem. The air carried soft bread smell across the open lane.

His fingers pulled; the tower shook and apples slid down. One apple bumped a jar, and water splashed over potatoes. Potatoes rolled across the ground, blocking the narrow walkway. Milo stepped back quickly, and the carrot slipped from hand. It landed upright between two baskets and stood straight. Nobody laughed or shouted; shoppers only watched the rolling food. Milo breathed slow, then moved items into tidy piles again. This small delay helped him learn patience with busy spaces. At last he lifted the tall carrot and placed it. The stem touched the wicker, and the basket stayed still. Milo turned toward the exit and walked through calm aisles.
