Milo Before First Click-

English 原文
Milo adjusted the tripod inside the school greenhouse at dawn, chasing one last detail for his science experiment. He had spent three weeks observing a rare lunar moth that slept behind broad orchid leaves above the benches. Fog clung to glass panes, and droplets rolled down the stems like beads of melted ice. Because the caretaker had locked the main door earlier, Milo slipped through a side vent beside the heaters. He tried to anticipate the moth’s first stretch of wings, so the shutter would open at silence. A timer light blinked on the camera, tiny yet intensely bright inside the bluish greenhouse haze.
Without warning, an automatic fan switched on aggressively, stirring leaves and spraying mist onto Milo’s lens. The ventilation schedule had been programmed by engineers long before his project began. If he had known the maintenance program would wake then, he would have chosen a different morning. He cleaned the glass, but the moth remained hidden, sheltered inside the shadow of a hanging fern. For the second attempt, he covered the fan with a folded jacket and waited three minutes. A beam from the security lamp bounced extensively across metal benches, scattering reflections like quicksilver across the walls. Wings rustled overhead, yet none belonged to the silver-green visitor he sought for his display. He wished he had brought a quieter camera, because the blinking light still poked at the darkness.
Milo crouched lower, pressed the manual switch, and finally killed the restless glow at the lens edge. The greenhouse seemed quieter now, with only drainage drops ticking against pots like a distant metronome. A delicate shape drifted downward and settled directly on the cold glass, its wings opening and closing like fans. The camera could not focus at such distance, so Milo angled a spare mirror toward the faint moonlight. The insect followed the pale path onto a broad leaf that trembled beside a clay pot. He squeezed the shutter once; a muted click and gentle whirr floated through the cooled air. A single image of silver wings rested on the softly glowing screen.
