Toy Under the Dust-

English 原文
Cold dust floated in a thin sunbeam, and dry wood carried a faint sweet smell. Milo crouched in the narrow attic because he wanted to tidy up one corner that had stayed crowded for years. Boxes pressed against his knees while a weak bulb blinked above him, so each movement needed care. He has already emptied two cartons whose sides were torn, yet loose nails scratched the floor and slowed his arms. When the bulb darkened again, he paused and slid a small lamp closer, which has been forgotten behind paint cans.
The last wooden crate sat deeper than the rest, and its lid jammed against a beam. Milo angled the hammer sideways, but the plank cracked and the whole front panel fell. Books, ribbons, and an old stuffed toy tumbled out. The toy’s fur stayed soft, although the ribbon around its neck showed pale threads; it had once been a precious gift. A faded tag on its ear proved the bear had started life as a bargain, yet the years have turned it into a valued treasure. Instead of lifting every scattered book, Milo pushed them into neat rows that formed a clear path toward the stairs, leaving the broken crate where it lay. He raised the empty shelf, placed the bear in the center, and light settled quietly over the newly cleared floor.
