The air is cold.
Rain drums on the roof.
Wet leaves stick to his back.
Rain water drips from branches.
A dog waits under trees.
He moves toward a porch.
Two wooden boxes block him.
Water splashes around his paws.
He nudges the first box.
The box sticks on mud.
He gives one loud push.
The box slides aside slowly.
A frog jumps from beneath.
The dog lets out a bark.
Wind shakes the small porch roof.
Cold drops run along his damp fur.
Wood creaks under his steady weight.
The dog steps onto dry porch.
He circles and rests dry.
He stays dry now.
