Boats Under the Cabinet-

English 原文
Kent pressed a rubber ball against the aquarium pump. He wanted fresh water for the class herb tray. A compact, efficient hose connected the pump to the tray. Soft morning light filled the bright classroom. The small pump worked, yet water rose too fast. A thin stream jumped over the glass wall and splashed down. The splash pushed dry soil toward a row of seed cups. That movement nudged a wooden ruler resting near the cups.
The ruler tapped a stack of paper boats beside the sink. Three small boats slid into the growing puddle and floated away. Water carried them under the low cabinet door. A narrow crack under the cabinet took the tiny fleet. Water followed and vanished below the floorboards. The teacher knelt and traced the wet path with chalk. She opened a wide towel to block the escaping stream. The fabric absorbed water, and the puddle stopped growing. Around them, the room stayed calm despite the damp floor. Happiness hung in the air as children watched boats disappear. One last drop rolled off the table edge toward the towel.
