Dina stood beside a small garden. The garden touched the wide library building. Warm air rose from the pale pavement. She carried many bean seeds in a sack. Her goal was simple: begin planting before noon. The sprinkler near her shoes stayed silent. Dry soil lay loose under the morning light.

Water sprang from hidden pipes without warning. The spray turned the soil dark and sticky. Dina moved one step back. After one minute, the water stopped again. Bright sun returned, and steam rose in thin ribbons. The cycle repeated once more: wet, then dry. Patience grew with the steady rhythm outside the walls.

On the third dry pause, Dina bent low. She pressed many seeds into the moist top layer. Water sprang again and packed the loose soil tight. She brushed stray grains away from the new row. The pattern kept shifting, yet her work stayed done. Thin drops tapped over the fresh row of brown mounds.
