English 原文
"Keep the page still."
Yara braced her forearm on the cast-iron bench as a bright shaft of glare cut across the open sketchbook. Several trial strokes had been laid across the top margin, each one carrying the artistic flair they wanted for a community mural. Silas lifted a short paintbrush and traced foam-like curves, guiding his hand so the bristles met the paper. They aspired to finish the rough design before thick clouds completely blocked the steady afternoon light. A sudden restless breeze arrived first, flipping the postcard of the ocean and scattering fine grit across the page in speckled shadows. Mist-thin drops followed, dotting the fresh paint and warping the nearest corner before either of them could react.
Silas hunched over the book, his jacket forming a roof while Yara blotted spots with her sleeve. Their quick rescue saved the lines, yet drizzle thickened, so they hurried toward the gazebo. Each seat under the wooden roof was taken by parents guarding prams, leaving no room for two painters. Under a plane tree they tracked the rain, hard for half a minute, gentle for the next. Yara spotted brief gaps between clouds over the pond and proposed working only during those flashes of glare. If the light returns for ten seconds, their colors will fix, not bleed. They reordered tasks: Silas mixed shades under the leaves, and Yara raised the book whenever brightness skimmed the path. A final gust sprang up, flipping the ocean postcard into a shallow puddle, yet the sketch stayed flat and clear. Above them, a slow drip sounded against the hollow leaves.
