Wrinkles in the Star Lantern-

English 原文
Most of the packed earth path lay smooth under the lanterns, but one shallow footprint pressed into a patch of sand near Tobias’s shoe. The gritty mark pointed toward the dim transition zone where his younger sister Lena swung her fish-shaped lantern, its cellophane fins casting wobbly blue shadows. Tobias followed, fingers curled around his own star lantern; the frame felt stiff, yet a panel on one point sagged slightly when he tapped it. A short copper wire had been twisted into a hook inside, and its polished surface rubbed against the battery contact each time the lantern swayed. He lifted the frame to inspect the joint—dust from the sand clung to the still-tacky paste like tiny grains of frustration, rough beneath his thumb—then pressed the LED casing upward until the light burned steady.
The steady glow pleased him for a breath, yet the push had deepened the soft panel’s curve; warm air inside the lantern softened the damp tissue even more, and the edge drooped toward the flickering bulb. A crumpled scrap of violet paper lay by the path like discarded disappointment, reminding him there was no quick return to the crowded craft station. Nearby, a damp breeze carried the faint, earthy scent of marshland across the park, and the movement of cooler air brushed the lantern’s skin, threatening another collapse. Tobias slid two fingers through the narrow opening, feeling the sticky inner seam. He pinched the loose wire hook and bent it forward so it propped the tissue away from the bulb, though the bend loosened the battery contact again; the light dimmed but did not go out.
The lantern now hung slightly crooked, and the glow escaped through a thin gap by the improvised brace, colouring the ground in a pale, uneven star. Tobias exhaled, letting the lantern dangle at arm’s length while Lena’s brighter fish drifted ahead. Two narrow wrinkles crossed the softened paper, catching the lantern’s uneven glow.
