Winona aimed to connect her meadow edge to Paul’s growing frame. She guided a coral-tipped wildflower piece toward the gap, yet the fit felt strange; under her fingertip the surface rocked. Several edge pieces had been gathered into a tray earlier, but none showed that odd thickness.
