Excited ripples rush toward the fence. A water strider skates away fast. Marisol watches, still. A grown-up scrapes mud from one boot. Grit clicks against a metal hook on the wall. Her cousin Keira leans in the doorway. A drip grows at the roof edge. It falls and taps Keira's hood. Another surprise comes. A grey toy shark drifts from under the gate. The current spins the plastic tail. Leaves bump the fin. One red leaf now clings to the fin.
