English 原文
"Blue paper, second shelf, right?"
Zara slid the supply closet door along its stubborn rail, the cool tube above flickering a faint blue shift. Stacks of paper stood like blocks, and marker bins breathed a dry, plastic smell into the narrow space. Under this light, the blue sheets showed almost black, so she reached for a pack with torn wrap. An inkling of blue edged the rip, and she tucked it under her arm and stepped into the corridor. The polished floor mirrored long streaks of light, and her shoes gave small squeaks that faded near the carpeted landing. A student volunteer shifted thumbtacks on the bulletin board, while the drinking fountain clicked once and sent a short arc. At the photocopier alcove, the warm toner scent mingled with cooler air from the stairwell window, and papers rustled softly. A heavy ream sat squarely on the copier glass, its shrink-wrap smooth and reflective under the pale tubes above. She slid fingers under the plastic, tried lifting once, and the slick bundle shifted sideways and tapped the control panel. Her heel caught the gritty mat by the base, and the ream stayed planted, stubborn as a box on wet paint.
The bell somewhere down the corridor rang twice, and footsteps gathered and passed, while the Start button glowed a steady green. She needed matching covers before the next period, so she set the poster on the glass and lowered the light lid. Two corners curled upward, throwing soft shadows near the edge that print as dark borders across copies. She tried holding them with one hand, but the lid pushed back on her knuckles and popped the corner free again. Her eyes paused on the ream she had failed to move, its weight and broad face already square over the glass. She slid the ream to the edge, and her hands sought the balance point so the smooth plastic pressed the curled paper. The same weight that blocked her path now anchored the sheet, the shrink-wrap evening pressure like a flat, patient palm. Under the fluorescent tubes, the copier glass showed threadlike marks, an exquisite map of hairlines where many pages had slid. Pale scratches drew crisp paths across the poster's lake of blue, sharp under the cool, steady ceiling light. A breeze from the stairwell brushed the notices, and the three-hole punch clicked once on the counter. She leaned closer, watching the fine lines reflect silver beside the held corner, while her thumb kept pressing the green Start.
