Sharp spines point upward silently.
Sam pauses on wet stone.
He slides the carrot forward.
The carrot touches cool water.
The urchin drifts aside slowly.
Space opens around the pool.
Sam dips the shiny apple.
Water runs over red skin.
He lifts the apple, dripping.
Evening light grows above waves.
One pale star shines early.
Sam sits beside the pool.
The pool stays quiet now.
